Medical Acupuncture
Medical acupuncture takes an evidence-based approach and expands on traditional Chinese perspectives. It is grounded in neurophysiological reactions that we all elicit from fine needles being inserted through the skin and briefly left in position. Acupuncture can be used to treat a range of conditions from its benefits in promoting tissue healing, reducing pain and treating trigger points in muscles.

We will assess your case and treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and we will often use it in conjunction with other forms of treatment such as electro-acupuncture and home exercise programs for the best possible outcomes. A course of acupuncture can create long lasting changes and together with improving your overall wellbeing by promoting relaxation, you are sure to get a unique and favourable experience.
Cupping
Cupping is a form of traditional Chinese and Middle Eastern medicine. Also known as vacuum cupping and hijama. It is a practice in which cups will be placed on the skin to create suction. This causes the tissue beneath the cup to be drawn up and swell resulting in increased blood flow to affected area. The result of this enhanced blood flow is the movement of impurities and toxins to a superficial level for removal. It is currently a popular treatment used for muscular aches, tissue healing and recovery.

Deep Tissue Massage
Being a team of Physiotherapists, we have extensive knowledge and experience in massage therapy used for both therapeutic and relaxation purposes. If you are suffering with muscle soreness after heavy training, global stiffness caused by your desk-based jobs or simply looking to have a massage to unwind and destress, we can help.
Our approach also utilises advancements in massage practice such as the use of massage guns to prepare soft tissue for deeper tensions and pressures as well as the Graston therapy concept, which is instrument assisted soft tissue
mobilisation.
Taping
Specialist elastic tape is applied on the skin with varying degrees of stretch and this creates a mechanical stimulus to reduce pain in the local area. The tension imposed from the tape also frees the underlying skin and fascia of any movement limitations, to encourage normal movement.
Taping can also aid lymphatic drainage for swollen areas & inflammation. You would use this intervention as an adjunct to your rehabilitation programme.
